Dear Angela, I have finally acquired your entire discography (doing my share too for Hyperion...) which is truly a magnificant revelation of the art of the piano - not to mention being immensely enjoyable. Congratulations on such a monumental accomplishment that benefits so many. From the earliest Two-Part Inventions of Bach to the latest, wonderous Keyboard Concertos to the glories of your French piano cycles (Couperin, Ravel, Chopin and now Chabrier) recordings, each is a towering masterpiece and prized disc in my collection. In fact, in the event of a fire, your CD's are among the things I will grab as I run out! I guess that is somewhat of an ultimate compliment. The new Chabrier pieces are brilliant and thoroughly delightfully in your hands, and I really love the sound of the Fazioli pianos in the latest recordings. All the best, Alan Lekan Boulder, CO

Dear Angela, many thanks for your frendly answer (at this time!). Another favorite piece from you is "Les Baricades Misterieuses" from Couperin for me. your interpreation is incomparable - wonderful! For me you will always be one of the great ladys of the piano. Have a good time (where ever you'll be) and don't forget your german fans. With best wishes Joachim

May I add my compliments to those already noted about your recent visit to The Sage in Gateshead? As always the Northern Sinfonia responded superbly to another inspirational guest soloist in their splendid new home. I hope you enjoyed The Sage as much as we lucky North Easterners do, and will hurry back. Until then I will continue to add to my burgeoning collection of your Bach CDs. The Chabrier CD is fabulous as well.

Hi Ms Hewitt-You may remember me. The freelance journalist from outside Melbourne who had an unforunate mx-up with you. I was reading your news-and I see you performed in the n.e. of the UK-my birthplace. I was born not very far from Newcastle. I am so pleased that you found the audiences warm. yes,we are warm folk.My grandfather was a wonderful doctor near Newcastle. If he was still alive, we would have come to see you. He shared with me a lively interest in music. I hope your discs with the Australian Chamber Orchestra are selling well. Your Bach Sinfonia in D? is sounding much better on my guitar-after listening to your playing of it. So pleased you played for the people of my UK birthplace. I'd love to interview you when you are next in Australia. best regards David J.Baird entertainment journalist Melbourne Australia

Dear Angela, my 6 year old daughter listens to your Goldberg Variations CD every night as she falls asleep. Her favorite is Variation 13. She never gets tired of it and finds it comforting. Thank you for such a wonderful recording.

Angela Some people suggested I was mad to brave the snow and a six hour train journey to hear you play in Alnwick. Perhaps I am .. or perhaps you’re just a bit special (the trip was doubly special because it gave me a chance to see some old friends). What can I say ? I could spend all night searching for superlatives and try and describe how much I enjoyed the evening, I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t. There are some things for which words are inadequate. Seeing you perform in such an intimate space was wonderful. As you play you’re obviously deeply moved by the music, and that emotional response is mirrored in those of us who are privileged to hear you. Perhaps you should bring out your own brand of tissues ? (They’d be useful for the cold I picked up while I was there 😀 ) You have a very special gift; the ability to make people feel blissfully happy. It’s true to say that your performances greatly enrich my life, and without you there would be something missing. Thanks for everything. I trust that all the joy you create in the world finds it’s way back to you :). P.S. The Chabrier CD is fantastic.

I've just found your diary entry for your concerts at the Sage, both of which I attended. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit as much as we loved having you here! I liked your analogy of the solid tree trunk (left hand) supporting the branches and leaves (right). This strong foundation was much in evidence when you directed the Sinfonia in the Bach concerto, creating a perfect partnership! Do come back soon.

I listened to a recording of your performance with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra today on my car radio, while en route from Ottawa to Toronto. My late mother,Margaret Rous, was a piano teacher in Ottawa. Back in the mid 1960's, her top piano student used to to compete against you at the Ottawa Music Festival (usually losing to you, I might add). Your music was wonderful back then, and continues to be today. It was very nice to hear it on the radio - sort of a reminder of my Ottawa childhood. Best wishes!!!

I received the revelation of your divine art only yesterday, listening Chopin's Nocturnes. My next days will be dedicated only to become possesor of your records. I'm an old man and I know that I'll never have the money to see and hear you in a Concert Hall , but I can dream , can't I ? Your annotations about Nocturnes are wonderful, too. God bless you Dan Nicolescu
