After reading Mr. Piasentini’s sentiments, I felt compelled to add my own. I came from London, Ontario to see your magnificent performance on Saturday the 23rd at Kitchener’s Centre in the Square. I was awe struck at how beautifully you played and how easy you made it look. Then just when I thought I could not hear anything more beautiful, you graciously played an encore; a piece by Mozart…lovely, absolutely breathtaking…thank you! The only shadow to an otherwise amazing evening of music was finding out too late that you were in the lobby during intermission and that I missed the opportunity to thank you personally for a tremendous performance. I only hope that I will get another opportunity in the future. Thank you again & again for a memorable evening and I look forward to the release of your Beethoven CD. Sincerely, Suzie

I just attended your performance of Shumann's Piano Concerto in A min, Op. 54, at Centre in the Square, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada ... great performance, very moving, brought tears to my eyes, BRAVA! Heard your rendition of Beethoven's "Appassionata" on CBC, you are second to none, great work, good luck in the future! Sincerely, Robert

Tempus fugit !

Hi Angela, I wanted you to know that I met your charming mother yesterday at the retirement residence where she lives. I was visiting there with my new puppy and I met Marian and her nurse. She is a lovely woman and very proud of her daughter! She told me to go to your website and I have to say, I am impressed with your many accomplishements. I am a big fan of classical music so I will definitely look for your cd's now.

WoW Angela!! Congratulations! But don't be shy - go ahead and spell it out - Order of the British Empire! This is wonderful. Your Mom will be thrilled. And I believe your Dad knew all about it even before you did (maybe even before the Queen?) - and he is just a-glowing and a-grinning. I really hope you are taking some time to savour the excitement of it all. Well done Angela! Sincerely, Cathy

Just to say very many thanks indeed for your recital at Wyastone the other day. We had heard a number of your CDs, especially the Goldberg Variations, and revelled in the Sixth Partita, while it was good to hear Kinderscenen as a whole and beautifully knitted together. But for me the revelation was the Brahms sonata. In the fourth quarter-century of one's life (just), it's always interesting to be presented with a work by one of the masters one has never heard before. But one lives with the fear that it may turn out there are good reasons why one has never heard it before - it's juvenilia, or a pot-boiler. In this case, most certainly neither, and you thoroughly convinced us it was a major work, to be often revisited. Thanks once more: come again! Emrys Evans

Dearest Angela, Eileen and I are thrilled and proud for you that you are receiving the honour of Officer of the Order to the British Empire. This certainly an honour that is well deserved. We hope to hear more of this when we see you at the Trasimeno Music Festival. Love and congratulations, Ralph and Eileen

Dear Ms Hewitt: I was delighted to be able to see you last Satursday evening at the Wyastone concert in Monmouth. As a fellow Ottawan, I followed your career over the past twenty years while working in Ottawa. But this is the first time I have been close enough to take in one of your performances in person. It was a very powerful experience and I hope to have an opportunity to see you again in the future. Best wishes, Bob Brouillard

Dear Ms. Hewitt, I heard a performance of selections from Bach's Art of the Fugue on the piano last night, which reminded me how wonderful some of them -- especially the unfinished fourteenth -- can sound on the modern piano. I would love to hear what Angela Hewitt would do with some of them. Why not a recording? At any rate, I hope you perform in the North East of the US in the near future.
