Dear Angela, My goodness! After reading of your trials and tribulations in trying to find a practice piano and privacy for working on it in Sao Paulo (I loved your image of playing for the bar customers in the hotel!), I am doubly looking forward to hearing your performance of Messiaen's Turangalila here in Montreal next month. It would seem you are having to climb mountains to conquer it. Here is a huge wish that you may succeed, and with far fewer obstacles in the coming weeks. All the best! With the effort you are putting into the work, it deserves to result in a tour de force. -- Margaret Hofmann

A belated Happy Birthday, Ms Angela! Wish that all your dreams come true. I've been to your recitals in Seattle & Berkely and am listening to your wonderful Handel CD while studying. Do look forward to your Debussy disc! Best, Vivian

Dear Angela, Purely by coincedence i visited your website and your Wikipedia entry today, and noticed it is your birthday. So, Happy Birthday from this admirer! You probably won't remember me, but i visited the wonderful concert you gave last March in Holland with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, and you signed my Bach-CD-Box afterwards. Thanks again for that, and hope to see and hear you again soon somewhere nearby! Edwin (not Fischer) van Putten. PS: i used my father's e-mail address, so 1923 is not my year, that's 1953.

Listening over and over to the CD of Jean-Phillippe Rameau's Keyboard Suites, first heard on Sunday Baroque on National Public Radio. The most beautiful piano music I have ever heard, played as if it were recorded for the ages.

This is just to express my gratitude for the musical recordings of Angela Hewitt which I listen to often while driving to and from work. Driving over the New Forest moor to the strains of the Well-Tempered Clavier as enthrallingly interpreted by Ms Hewitt is a really edifying artistic experience. Ms Hewitt plays with such precision, intelligence and passion. As the Baha'i Writings say, music is a ladder by which the soul can ascend to the heavenly realm.

Dear Angela, Thank you so much for your superlative recital last night in Nottingham . It was the first time that I had heard a Fazioli piano live - you revelled in it's miriad tone colours - surely the finest piano there is . Please return to N ottingham with Fazioli and Goldburg ! Yours Michael

Dear Angela. We loved your recital in Nottingham last night. We'd travel for miles to hear you play, and have done over the last few years, but it's fantastic when you come and perform within 10 minutes form our home! You always live up to our hopes and expectations. In fact you exceeded them with your exquisite recital followed by two wonderful encores last night. I am listening to my new CD of Handel and Haydn as I write. And like the last writer in this guestbook, we really appreciate being able to talk to you afterwards. It's amazing that you have any energy and patience left after working os hard all evening. Especially exciting is the news that you're planning to record some Scarlatti in a couple of years. That could be a huge project! Good luck with everything, and please come back to Nottingham before too long. Wendy & Sue
