Very best wishes for your recording sessions. It will be a wonderful reminder of those fabulous concerts I feel privileged to have heard and I look forward to hearing the results. It will be fascinating to compare with your earlier interpretation. With thanks for the pleasure you have brought so many people.
Hello Angela -
I love your quote - 'sound's relaxin'
Please come to Dallas some time if you feel you need to relax - I love your recordings of Bach - they are a touchstone for me -
Dear Angela,
My name is Kenneth and I am a piano and French teacher from Toronto, Canada. I wanted to say that what really got me into piano in my teens, and helped push me through my ARCT exam, was your performance of Bach's Concerto in d BWV 1052 with the CBC (which, I believe, was done in the 80s). Very good stuff. You deserve recognition for your hard work.
All the best,
Kenneth Hand
Dear Ms. Hewitt,
I wanted to thank you for the beautiful music that often is played in my office. I'm a radiation oncologist who has to deal with many sad and trying situations with cancer patients. Your flawless playing, especially of Bach, has made many difficult days manageable for my staff and me. Your music is truly a gift to more people than you will ever know. Bravo!
Dear Miss Hewitt,
I would like to wish you a happy birthday.
Thank you for sharing beautiful Bach`s music with us in your wonderful recital in Passau. It gave us a lot of joy.
Best regards,
Richard, Slovakia
Thank you for a unforgettable evening with the Goldberg-Var. in Eberbach. Incredible devout atmosphere!
Dear Ms. Hewitt
I had the soul of a very ordinary person. Listening to you every day playing Bach my soul is improving fast. I think soon I will became an angel if I follow listening to Bach playing by you!!
I was to have seen you play the WTC in Los Angele last year, but i was detained by emergency heart surgery. I thought even at the time that I'd rather be spending the evening with you.
You've performed the WTC many times now, and I imagine your thoughts about the work--and perhaps others of your Bach works--have changed with experience. Are there any that you've considered re-recording? I'd love a record of your later thoughts.
One other question before you kick me out of your house: After your last solo Bach recording you wrote something to the effect that you;d now performed all the Bach you felt worth performing. Some artists, such as Aimard, seem to consider the Art of Fugue as necessary piano music. I'd be very interested in your thoughts on the Bach works that you chose NOT to record.
Thank you for the hours of pleasure your playing has brought me. I look forward to many years of listening. Everything you do is interesting, but the Bach--ah, the Bach!
Happy Birthday, Ms. Hewitt!
Wonderful Bach!
Sincerely, Serge
Dear Ms. Hewitt:
I just viewed the Hear Here! WTC excerpts and especially appreciated the Fazioli lower register and your application of rubato along with, of course, your superior performance. Thanks so much for making the concert available.
Best regards,
Larry
