One of the world’s leading pianists Angela Hewitt makes a welcome return to Turner Sims with a diverse programme. The recital opens with Bach, a composer with whom Angela Hewitt is synonymous, features music from one of Liszt’s musical pilgrimages, and concludes with French repertoire. Chabrier described his virtuosic work to its dedicatee as a little piano piece which I think is quite amusing and in which I have counted about 113 different sonorities.
