Johann Sebastian BACH: Goldberg Variations BWV 988
The Goldberg Variations by J. S. Bach are a real challenge for pianists. The Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, the daughter of a cathedral organist, has had an affinity to Bach’s music since her childhood. Her unquestionable talent for interpreting Bach’s music was also confirmed by her first prize in the 1985 International Bach Piano Competition in Toronto. Today, Angela Hewitt ranks among the most outstanding interpreters of Bach’s work and her concert in Prague, a city she fell in love with during her frequent visits, promises to be an extraordinary musical event.
The concert is held under the auspices of H. E. Otto Jelinek, Ambassador of Canada to the Czech Republic.
